Abstract

In November 2022, based on two reference cities, Palangka Raya and Sampit, there was inflation in Kalimantan Tengah of 0.16 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 115.36. Of the 90 CPI cities, 62 cities experienced inflation and 28 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Ambon by 1.15 percent with a CPI of 116.17 and the highest deflation was in Tanjung Pandan by 0.64 percent with a CPI of 113.91.
  • The combined inflation for the cities of Palangka Raya and Sampit in November 2022 was due to an increase in the price index for the transportation group (1.09 percent), the health group (0.47 percent), the personal care and other services group 0.37 percent), the equipment group, equipment and household routine maintenance (0.21 percent), the group providing food and drink/restaurants (0.14 percent), the clothing and footwear group (0.05 percent), the recreation, sports and culture group (0.04 percent ), and the food, beverage and tobacco group (0.02 percent).
  • Calendar year inflation (November 2022 to December 2021) for the combined cities of Palangka Raya and Sampit was recorded at 6.06 percent and year-on-year inflation (November 2022 to November 2021) was 6.97 percent.
  • Commodities contributing to inflation in November 2022 include air transportation, rice, filter clove cigarettes, kale, tomatoes, shallots, kretek cigarettes, gold jewelry, prescription drugs, and tuna/ambu-ambu fish.
  • Commodities contributing to deflation in November 2022 include cayenne pepper, cooking oil, long beans, household fuels, cucumbers, purebred chicken, wet shrimp, red chilies, catfish and bananas.
