February 2023: Palangka Raya experienced inflation of 0.11 percent and Sampit experienced inflation of 0.10 percent

Abstract

In February 2023, the combined inflation for the City of Palangka Raya and Sampit was 0.10 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 115.91. Of the 90 CPI cities in Indonesia, 63 cities experienced inflation, while 27 cities experienced deflation.
  • The highest inflation occurred in Ternate at 1.85 percent with a CPI of 114.42, while the highest deflation occurred in Gunung Sitoli at 0.98 percent with a CPI of 115.65.
  • The combined inflation for the City of Palangka Raya and Sampit in February 2023 occurred due to an increase in the price index in the recreation, sports and culture group (0.51 percent), the health group (0.44 percent), the clothing and footwear group (0.29 percent ), the food, beverage and tobacco group (0.26 percent), the personal care and other services group (0.17 percent), the supplies, equipment and household routine maintenance group (0.09 percent), the education group (0 .07 percent), the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group (0.06 percent), and the food and beverage/restaurant supply group (0.06 percent).
  • Calendar year inflation (February 2023 to December 2022) for the combined Municipalities of Palangka Raya and Sampit was recorded at 0.23 percent and year-on-year inflation (February 2023 against February 2022) was recorded at 5.93 percent.
  • Commodities contributing to inflation in February 2023 include rice, filter clove cigarettes, long beans, white cigarettes, shallots, garlic, prescription drugs, household fuels, parking fees, and biscuits.
  • Commodities that contributed to deflation in February 2023 included air transportation, tomatoes, baung fish, snakehead fish, purebred chicken eggs, bird's eye chilies, kale, carrots, tuna/ambu-ambu fish, and snacks/snacks.
