Abstract

In March 2023, the combined inflation for the City of Palangka Raya and Sampit was 0.50 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 116.49. Of the 90 CPI cities in Indonesia, 65 cities experienced inflation, while 25 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Kupang at 1.30 percent with a CPI of 114.61, while the deepest deflation occurred in Bandung at 1.50 percent with a CPI of 114.43.
  • The combined inflation for the City of Palangka Raya and Sampit in March 2023 occurred due to an increase in the price index in the transportation group (1.32 percent), the food, beverage and tobacco group (1.00 percent), the recreation, sports and culture group (0. 62 percent), personal care and other services group (0.30 percent), health group (0.18 percent), information, communication and financial services group (0.08 percent), food and beverage/restaurant provision group (0 .07 percent), the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group (0.05 percent), and the equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group (0.02 percent).
  • Calendar year inflation (March 2023 to December 2022) for the combined cities of Palangka Raya and Sampit was recorded at 0.74 percent and year-on-year inflation (March 2023 against March 2022) was 5.62 percent.
  • Commodities contributing to inflation in March 2023 include rice, air transportation, cayenne pepper, gasoline, filter clove cigarettes, garlic, tuna/ambu-ambu fish, snakehead fish, cooking oil, and gold jewelry.
  • Commodities contributing to deflation in March 2023 include pork, shallots, women's Muslim clothing, women's dresses/overalls, diesel fuel, negligee, tude/sellar fish, squid, cucumber, and children's sandals.
